2008 Riesling

The 2008 MOMO Riesling is a blend of fruit from vineyards located in the Wairau Valley of Marlborough. The fruit for this Riesling was picked on April 2 in the late evening and early morning, to ensure the fruit was cool when it reached the winery. After the juice was settled it was cool fermented to retain fruit flavour.

Tasting Notes

Colour     Pale in colour, with a light green hue

Bouquet   Fresh pineapple, lime and citrus aromas with some honey and beeswax from a small blended botrytis component

Palate   The palate is well balanced with a vibrant grapefruit acidity balanced by a touch of residual sugar

Food Pairing   Delicious with seafood and Asian inspired dishes, or just by itself as a refreshing aperitif.

Cellaring   This wine has the potential to improve over the next five years, whilst providing fresh lively drinking immediately.

Winemaker   Clive Dougall

"Subtle aromas of jasmine lead to decent fruit and a quite drying acidity. The finish is clean and crisp. A straightforward, well made and easy drinking wine."
